Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)
But he was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by His wounds we are healed.
Christians know the story of Christ’s birth and His ministry, as well as the cruelty of His undeserved and painful physical death. The torture of His soul was evident when He called out, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”, crying out from Psalm 22:1. Even though He knew what was going to happen before it did and understood what the result would be before it occurred, bearing the sins of the world on His perfection and experiencing separation from God the Father represented the worst moments of all.
Easter is a time of reflection, a time for gratitude.
Apart from personal gratitude, I’m grateful for the changes I’m seeing in our government. It’s not all leaps for joy and flowers, but for the first time in many years, many elements of our country seem to be moving towards conservative values.
For example, the NY Times reported on Good Friday that the presidential Easter greeting was more directly evangelistic than those of the past. Trump and the first lady said they were celebrating “the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity.”
The White House hosted a live-streamed Easter prayer service and a dinner attended by the president. Trump told attendees he hoped it would be “one of the great Easters ever.”

Whether you believe Trump and his team are doing a great job to right the sinking ship or a horrible job, his Christian position is merely for show, and his words are staged, I appreciate the moment of public prayer coming from the President of the United States of America.
We are called to pray for our leaders as well (1 Timothy 2:1-2 - ESV)
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
As we reflect on what Jesus endured to give us hope for the future, ponder for a bit on what the pressure of being the President of one of the most powerful countries in the world must feel like....I’m grateful that he calls Jesus our Lord and Savior.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. God bless. He is risen!!
Today’s Prayer
With joyful hearts, we celebrate this Easter morning, praising You for Your victory over death. The stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and You are alive—forever reigning as our Savior and King. Lord, let the power of Your resurrection awaken our hearts today. Remind us that through You, all things new. Let this be a day of fresh hope and deep gratitude. May we walk in Your light and reflect Your love in all we do.
Fill our homes with laughter, our hearts with praise, and our lives with purpose. Help us to be Easter people—not just today, but every day—proclaiming with boldness and joy that You are risen indeed! Amen.
I appreciate you being here.
