Encourage One Another

We need each other...

1 Thessalonians 5:11 

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.

I’ve been broadcasting “Happy Hour With DrT” since June 2020. It all started when I said to Michelle, my executive assistant, “We have to do something happy and inspirational for others. Everything is so dark!”

She said, “Why don’t we have a Happy Hour?”

It was meant to be a bit of a double entendre’ – instead of toasting wine and having a raucous get-together to complain about the “Covid Tyranny,” Happy Hour was an online Bible study!

Initially, we gathered every night at 6 pm on Instagram, with all the obligations I have, it was too much. Then we got censored off every social media platform, (Ig, FB, Twitter, Podbean, and even PayPal).

Over time, we have comfortably settled into Happy Hour broadcast two evenings per week, at 6pEST. We live stream our discussion to our Happy Hour with DrT channel on Clouthub and soon, we’re going to broadcast to many other platforms, including Telegram, Gab, and Gettr.

The whole point of Happy Hour with DrT is to encourage each other and to share insights and inspiration from God’s Word. Each week, I wrote blogs to accompany our live Happy Hour discussion - all of these were – removed from Blogspot.com! Fortunately, I still had the blogs saved in a folder, so I decided to update and re-post those discussions and journeys here as a substack.  

I want to gather together a group of like-minded, God-fearing folks to share God’s love and encourage each. We all have a significant part to play in this tapestry of life, such as:

• Being a dedicated parent; 

• Being an attentive caretaker for an elderly or infirm parent or relative; 

• Being a business owner trying to make sense of it all;

• Being committed activist….or anyone with an avocation to many to list here. 

What would you add to this list?

Together, we can look to God in the midst of the storm.

We have had thousands of followers at Happy Hour over the last two years. I’m looking forward to writing BOTH of my columns here on substack:

I really enjoy writing; it’s a bit of a hobby for me, like others may like painting, pottery or gardening.

Lord, thank you for the opportunity to share some of what I have learned and what You have taught me over the last few years of attention to You and Your Word. Thank you for another opportunity – another outlet – for sharing my walk with You with others.

We are grateful we can lean on You, Lord. We trust Your timing is perfect, no matter how difficult it may be to accept in Human time. Thank You for putting Your hand on the steering wheel of our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
