Keep Asking

Keep believing

1 John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He listens to our requests, we can be sure that we have what we ask Him for.

I have spoken at many dozens of conferences and have given hundreds of interviews for radio, podcasts and online TV programs. Many of these events were Christian-centric and I would often be asked by the Host, “Dr.T there are so many people who are praying for you every day. Is there anything specifically you would like our prayer warriors to pray for you about?” 

It felt a little odd at first, asking others to pray for me about something I had been putting out in prayer for many years... but I prayed the best two physicians into my clinic with the help of others. Yes we are open at all three centers. Please keep your appointments coming!!

This week, I've been visualizing and praying nonstop for resolution of these stroke-like symptoms since they arrived 5 days ago. Something is nudging me to ask others to help me pray for what I really need...

So I’m asking my friends and fans to “pray healing into my body.”

It appears that according to my CT scan, I have had long standing, undiagnosed high blood pressure. All the recent stresses have added to it. I finally broke.

When you’re praying for a specific event or situation, you can often feel like God really isn’t listening. Aren’t we taught, Ask and it is given? Seek and you will find? Knock and the door will be opened? It’s easy to get discouraged in this day of McDonald’s medicine and snap-your-fingers expectations.  You doubt your prayers, you question your desires, you wonder why God doesn’t move more quickly upon the situation and resolve it.

But I will keep asking... and I’m pretty sure many of you will keep praying for me. And quite honestly, I am learning let it go. God allowed this infirmity for a reason. I also know with a single touch of the Holy Spirit, it can all be gone in a second. In the end, its to bring glory to Him. With SO many praying together, God’s healing plan will come together for a time such as this.

It’s not the instantaneous healing I want and need. But I believe it will come. I’m already improving every day. I have great caretakers, great food, and I’m taking brain building supplements four times a day. I’m doing brain gym. I don’t need more suggestions , however well meaning. Just prayers.

How many of you have experienced this at times? It comes down to surrender... and trust. Trust that your Abba Father knows not only what is best, but knows the perfect timeline for fulfilling your heart’s desire. NOW is the perfect time for my “prefect new health” to arrive, which makes me smile.

You know the expression: What to make God laugh? Tell Him YOUR plan! 

There are so many verses in the Bible tell us to Trust. Fear Not. Believe. Have Faith. Know Your Father loves you and is closer than your next breath.

If you’ve been praying for something, but it seems a distant wish, surrender the situation to the Lord. Trust His timeline and Trust in his outcome.

As Dr. Charles Hoffe said to me on The Tenpenny Files interview a few weeks ago:

• Respect your past – it has formed who you are

• Live in the moment – it’s all we really have...and

• Leave the future in God’s capable hands

TODAY’S PRAYER

Dear Lord, thank you for hearing our prayers. Lord, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You see the entire timeline or our lives and of those who are important to us. Lord, everyone here is struggling with something in their lives: family, friends, job, children, finances, health and more.

Lord, we know you hear our prayers – and we already HAVE what we have requested...it just may come in a different package or different timeline than our humanness wants to see.

Teach us to surrender these troubling human difficulties into Your capable hands. Today we visualize taking what it troubling us, what has us worried, and laying it at the foot of the Cross, trusting YOU to make the situation into what will be perfect in every way and where You will get the glory. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
