For those who haven’t had the chance to explore my Walking With God book, I’d like to offer a glimpse into the heartfelt inspirations it holds. This isn’t a book you’ll read cover to cover like a novel. Instead, it’s a guide you can turn to in moments when you need encouragement, wisdom, or hope to carry you through the day. Open it to any section that speaks to your heart—whether it’s Having Bravery, Finding Hope, Embracing Faith, Deepening Trust, or Practicing Obedience—and let it provide the guidance and comfort you seek in your journey.
Psalms 39:7
Now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You.
In the English language, the word ‘hope’ has an element of doubt. For instance, “I hope it will not rain tomorrow” or “I hope I will get a raise.”
However, that is not the meaning of hope in the Bible.
In the Old Testament, hope comes from the Hebrew word batah which means confidence and security.
In the New Testament, hope is usually translated from the Greek words, elpis or elpizo, which originate from the word elpomai, which means to expect or to anticipate.
How different is this meaning of HOPE when we know it means confidence, security, expectation and anticipation!
When we say, “My hope is in the Lord” – it’s not a sense of desperation or the feeling of ‘crossed fingers.’ We stand on a sure foundation with joyful confidence and solid anticipation.
Now, when you read verses that use the word HOPE, I trust you will be reading these verses with a whole new sense of interpretation!
Today’s Prayer:
Dear Lord, our hope – our confidence and security - is in You and Your unlimited power, knowledge, and dominion. We have confidence that all things to come to pass through Your purpose for our life.
Make Your plan for our lives clear, Father, so our hope for the future becomes clear and our lives align with Your will. We know that no matter what our hope - our security, our expectation, our anticipation - is in You. Your purpose will not be defeated. May Your Plan will be fulfilled on Your timeline. We trust and hope in You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

My hope is in Him alone. 🙌
All other ground is sinking sand.
