What was it like 'As in the days of Noah?'

Matthew 24:36-39

No one knows when that day or hour will come not the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father, because just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. In those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage right up to the day when Noah went into the ark. They were unaware of what was happening until the flood came and swept all of them away. That's how it will be when the Son of Man comes.

Verse 37 has been of particular interest to me for the last several years: as it was in the days of Noah. What was it like in the days of Noah?

Genesis 6 gives a fairly detailed description of what was happening at that time:

:5-6: When the Lord saw that man’s wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every scheme his mind thought of was nothing but evil all the time, the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

:7 – for I regret that I made them

:11-12:  The earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. God saw how corrupt the earth was, for every creature had corrupted its way on the earth.

Also in those days, the people of the world lived on, unaware of the judgment about to take place. In fact, according to Jesus, people lived their normal, evil, and violent lives. They ate. They drank. They hosted parties. They apparently had sex with every relative and every person who agreed right up until the moment of their own destruction.

In fact, their sexual escapes continued to be pervasive long after the flood. God felt compelled to give explicit and detailed instructions to Moses for the Israelites to stop having sex with everyone. In fact, these are the exact instructions Yahweh gave to Moses:

Leviticus 18:6-27 (HCSB)

• You are not to come near any close relative for sexual intercourse.

• You are not to shame your father by having sex with your mother. She is your mother; you must not have sexual intercourse with her.

• You are not to have sex with your father’s wife; it will shame your father.

• You are not to have sexual intercourse with your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s, whether born at home or born elsewhere. You are not to have sex with her.

• You are not to have sexual intercourse with your son’s daughter [granddaughter] or your daughter’s daughter [granddaughter], because it will shame your family.

• You are not to have sexual intercourse with your father’s wife’s daughter, who is adopted by your father; she is your sister.

• You are not to have sexual intercourse with your father’s sister; she is your father’s close relative.

• You are not to have sexual intercourse with your mother’s sister, for she is your mother’s close relative.

• You are not to shame your father’s brother by coming near his wife to have sexual intercourse; she is your aunt.

• You are not to have sexual intercourse with your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife; you are not to have sex with her.

• You are not to have sexual intercourse with your brother’s wife; it will shame your brother.

• You are not to have sexual intercourse with a woman and her daughter. You are not to marry her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter and have sex with her. They are close relatives; it is depraved.

• You are not to marry a woman as a rival to her sister and have sexual intercourse with her during her sister’s lifetime. You are not to come near a woman during her menstrual impurity to have sexual intercourse with her.

• You are not to have sexual intercourse with your neighbor’s wife, defiling yourself with her. '

• You are not to sleep with a man as with a woman; it is detestable.

• You are to keep My statutes and ordinances. You must not commit any of these detestable things—not the native or the foreigner who lives among you. For the men who were in the land prior to you have committed all these detestable things, and the land has become defiled.

Today’s Headlines

Last week, I saw an article posted on Newspunch.com that started like this:

German zoophiles have taken to the streets in protest against laws that forbid sex with animals. According to the protesters, German citizens should have the right to engage in sexual relationships with animals including pet dogs. Called Zoophiles, these perverted humans – both men and women - believe it’s acceptable to be sexually intimate with an animal, and they want the LGBTQ+ rainbow movement to add a Z to its name.

LGBTQIA+ is a phrase used to refer to people of all genders and sexualities, such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, asexual, pansexual, and allies. While each letter in LGBTQIA+ stands for a specific group of people, the term encompasses the entire spectrum of gender fluidity and sexual identities. Pedophilia is also being normalized by the global elite and they are increasing the pressure to accept deviance as normal. There is a movement to add a P to the chain of letters.

Now, it appears there is growing pressure to ‘normalize’ another disgusting behavior – sex with animals... and that’s not just sex with dogs, which seen to be the easiest to train.

Protecting Animals from Humans

There are animal protection laws in every civilized country across the world that makes it illegal to engage in sex with an animal. What about in the United States?

As recently as 2017, five states (Texas, Kentucky, West Virginia, Vermont, and Nevada) introduced legislation to ban interspecies sex. (Why was there suddenly a need to enact laws banning this type of immorality?)

In March 2022, a paper was published at www.AnimalLaw.info that included a table of State Animal Sexual Assault Laws. The introduction to this paper includes this:

Within 48 states, there are provisions that criminalize engaging in sex with animals. New Mexico, West Virginia and Wash DC  District do not have laws addressing this conduct.

States are somewhat split in how the offense is categorized as either a misdemeanor or a felony, based on the severity of conduct and if the animal has been injured.

Within the 48 states, 23 classify sex with animals (bestiality) as a misdemeanor; 25 states classify it as a felony.  The punishment for breaking this law can range up to ‘not less than 7 years and up to 20 years imprisonment’ in Rhode Island. A conviction in Idaho results in at least 5 years in a state prison and Georgia doles out a mandatory 1 year in jail with a maximum of up to 5 years. 

The military code has a code of regulation against . This law provides that “any person who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with . . . an animal is guilty of sodomy.” 10 U.S.C.A. § 925. The penalty is court martial.  

Of important note: these laws are made to protect ANIMALS from the deviant behavior of humans.

What does the Bible say about having sex with animals? The word from the Lord isn’t subtle ...and there are a lot of verses covering it.

• Exodus 22:19 - Whoever lies with an animal shall be put to death.  

• Leviticus 18: 23 - You are not to have sexual intercourse with any animal, defiling yourself with it; a woman is not to present herself to an animal to mate with it; it is a perversion.

• Leviticus 20: 15-16 - If a man has sexual intercourse with(l) an animal, he must be put to death; you are also to kill the animal. If a woman comes near any animal and mates with it, you are to kill the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their own blood is on them.

• Deuteronomy 27:21 - Cursed be anyone who lies with any kind of animal.  

And what does the Bible say about homosexuality which is as rampant in the world today ‘as in the days of Noah’?

• Romans 1: 26-27 - For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; And the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

• Jude 1:7 - Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities near them, which like them committed sexual sins and pursued homosexual activities, serve as an example of the punishment of eternal fire.

• 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 - For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you knows how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;

And this is the final word:

Leviticus 18: 29 - Any person who does any of these detestable practices must be cut off from his people.

The evil on this planet is now running rampant. From Drag Queen “reading hours” at public libraries to ‘diversity and inclusivity training’ to school boards approving pornography as ‘sex education’ in grade school curricula.

The wrath of God is coming. Like those who were going about their merry way ‘as in the days of Noah’, we’ve been warned.

We see the signs. We know His coming - and his judgment - is near.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, all we need to do is open our eyes and look around to see our blatantly evil ways right before our eyes, actions being passed off as “normal.” We have lost our moral compass and instead of standing on what Your Word says, we make up our own rules so that we don’t ‘offend’ anyone.

Lord, let us not be tolerant of sin. Let us not ignore Your Word, Your Laws, and the things You have clearly outlined as detestable in Your sight. Let us not ‘pick and choose’ what WE think is ‘right’ when You have given us clear direction. You made us in Your Image. Our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. When we defile it with hedonistic, detestable practices – acts done by the Canaanites in the day of Destruction, how can it be long before Your wrath is upon us?

Lord protect Your children – children of all ages – from the evil that is upon us. Open our eyes to Your ways, oh Lord. I believe we are just on the front edge of the evil that is about to descend upon our planet.
