Thank you. Reading the Bible God’s word is so important. I’m so happy that you studied it like a text.

Happy Sunday, Dr. Tenpenny. I always love waking up to your words of wisdom. I immediately thought as you described studying the 5 books, what a wonderful gift you have of processing massive amounts of information and sharing it with us so that we see something deeper. Thank you for that. I too did a study of Genesis and what stood out for me was after the fall of Adam, the Bible says that Enoch walked with God. This let me know and gave me a desire to walk with God, knowing that it was passible to walk with God as Adam did in the beginning. Since then my life has never been the same. I saw you in Branson, it was such a blessing to see you in person. Thank you and have a blessed new week. 🙏🏼💕💖

Once again, Dr Tenpenny, you have hit home. I am reading through Genesis this month and enjoying it SO much- why the many times I’ve read it in previous years I missed so much context. Perhaps more scales are being lifted from our eyes! I must accelerate my reading 😉🙏. Thanks SO very much for your wisdom and allowing God to use your talents to enrich so many lives.

What a beautiful synopsis! I have learned so much from the Pentateuch and how it mirrors the New Testament. Yeshua fulfilled the law!

Thank you Dr. Tenpenny. I am a free subscriber to you as Broken Pottery, but now as a paid subscriber as I Can't Imagine/Grief Journal. I recently told you and your readers that I have now found myself in the role of a mom who's 24 year old daughter died suddenly and unexpectedly on Dec. 23rd. We know there are so many more happening and more to come.

Those who want to grieve their loved ones while others grieve theirs to form a community, are welcome to the I Can't Imagine substack. The nights are the hardest and I'm setting up a "Nightly Gathering" open thread where grief can be shared. It is therapeutic for many. I would be honored if you would pass it on.

Thank you, Dr. Tenpenny. These books of the Bible are wonderful indeed and your reflections on them make them even more delightful. It does us well to remember that whatever we might be in, knee deep or not, our God is right there beside us helping us through.

That's good thank you. Much of what the church is missing today it is missing because we don't know the Law and the Prophets. Finding the Gospel in the Law and bringing Christ's people to His prophets is perhaps the most productive work we can do.

Really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Deuteronomy, I read it straight through years ago and still remember being struck with the contrast between chapter 30 and everything that goes before. It is Gospel and forgiveness after he piles law and works on us for 29 chapters.

Also, here is a sermon I did last year on Manna and the Miracles of Christ. Hope you enjoy it. I call it Miracles: The Apparent Vs The Real

Thank you for this overview of the Pentateuch. There is so much in the Old Testament to explain and enrich our understanding of the New Testament. Many years ago we did an in depth Bible Study which helped us to learn the key passages and gems of scripture. Leviticus can be tedious reading but this is an especially important verse...

Leviticus 17:11

For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.

This Old Testament command to offer a blood sacrifice to atone for sins clearly points to the sacrifice that Jesus made in shedding His blood for us.

What I love about reading the Pentateuch is Jesus is throughout all of it. Also known as the Scarlet Thread (representing the color of His blood.) I get Holy Bumps when I see Jesus in my readings of the Pentateuch.

Good analysis. I am currently reading Franklin Jensen's book Acres of Damonds. He also is relating how we all need to appreciate the place and space we are currently in and look for the good right where we are.

After reading/studying the Pentateuch in a bible study group I was so excited to realize how I could see Jesus through the rest of the Bible. I love learning about God and His Beloved even more than I did before then. Thank you for sharing your excitement on what you are learning about Him.

Re: tithing even my pastor said Jesus never said how much we should tithe. However, I feel if God wrote 10% in His word, then 10% it is. The OT is just as important as the NT and I don't feel there should be any difference between the 2. However, I do remember what Jesus said about the widow who gave all she had. I also remember what He said about the stingy Pharisees. I believe the LORD will put in your heart how much to tithe. That's between you and Him.
