Jeremiah 32:27
Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?
I feel it in my bones.
God is about to move mightily, in ways that could only be from His hand. The results are going to be so spectacular, the results can only be Divinely Designed.
His plan will come to pass through the physical work of those who have remained faithful and have found ways to scrape, claw, and dig their way through the evil battles. We have fought to stay the course with all our strength. We trusted His plan, even when there were few outward signs of Him being “anywhere in the room.” We clutched to the 300+ verses that asserted, “FEAR NOT!”
And we stood on Jeremiah 1:8, in which the Lord declared:
“Don't be afraid of them, because I am with you to deliver you.”
When Jesus sent His students out, two by two, on their first mission, remember His instructions:
“Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give...” (Matt. 10:5-8)
I suspect they were nervous; maybe even afraid. But they soon discovered they could allow the Holy Spirit to flow through their hands, to heal the desperate, restore sight to the blind, and give strength to lame limbs. They were humbled to find they really could be His representatives.
Service and a Leap of Faith
No matter how much we want to serve Him, it’s not always easy to step onto the path of service, especially if asked to serve in a very public way. What keeps me going every single day are the instructions Jesus gave:
“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.” (Matt. 10: 32-33)
Doing His work isn’t an option. Sharing the Gospel isn’t an option. It’s His imperative, His directive. We are His representatives even when we feel small, frail, and inadequate. Sometimes, stepping onto His playing field requires a leap of faith.
There is an expression, “Leap and grow your wings on the way down.” Stepping out in faith often reminds me of a scene from the Indiana Jones movie, “The Last Crusade” (1989) when Harrison Ford put his life on the line ...and had to trust:
When you’re examining what He is asking you to do, remember:
If it were easy, He wouldn't call you to do it;
If it were easy, someone else would have already done it – without Him;
If it were easy, we wouldn’t need His help and we wouldn’t struggle to do the work.
Sometimes when God gives us a job to do, we would prefer to say, “No Thank You...Sir.” We have other things we’d rather do. We’re tired. We’re already overwhelmed. We would really prefer NOT to take on another task, especially a big project, even if the Job Description comes directly from the Lord with our name all over it.
Maybe Moses, Aaron, Joshua, and even Jesus Himself would have preferred a different "task" – maybe they also wanted to say, “No Thank You, Sir.” Hmmm…
But the time is now.
If He is calling you, jump in. Don’t overthink it. Know that He can do the impossible. NOTHING is too hard for Him. Jesus himself said,
“With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt. 19:26)
The tasks that are coming are huge. The work will be hard, with long hours, scraped knees and burdened backs but it will be glorious. And at the end of the day, His appointed tasks will greatly magnify and grow His kingdom.
Today’s Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, we are here about You, for You, with You. We feel the excitement in the air, the feeling of something big and important is soon to happen. Father, we are believing that You are about to show Your power, Your might over the descendants of the Watchers, the fallen ones. Lord, we have watched as the struggle of good vs. evil has heated to the boiling point. But we’ve read the end of the Book. We know where the true power is... and we know who ultimately wins the Final Battle.
Between now and Then, dear Lord, put us on Your battlefield exactly where You want us to be. Put us where we can best exercise our skills on Your 10-D chessboard. Each day when we awaken, we know we have one more day to serve and do the work You have assigned. And we have one more day to lead others to You. Thank You for the opportunity to serve. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Perfect. Just perfect. Exactly what I needed this morning. God bless you, Dr T, for your strength, courage and tenacity. You continue to inspire us!
Thank you Dr. T. I struggle everyday with asking God why I am still here? Your words are the much needed encouragement for all of us to continue the fight! God Bless you always....🙏💗🙏
