Dr. Tenpenny, I thank God for your insights. They are a big source of relief and assurance, even as a 66 year young service disabled Marine veteran, Shot in line of duty, severe hearing loss from weapons fire, and severe PTSD, I still struggle to maintain my spiritual relationship with the Lord. I was born again on 02-03-1973, and had my ups and downs. But today, my spiritual health is the thing most important to me, since I know how weakness there can result in physical and mental, and spiritual weakness. I'm just Sooo glad that since the beginning of CV, I was listening to you and others in your circle of in the know doctors. (Never took the poison jab). Anyone reading this, please pray for me since I have serious health issues, and am recovering from full left knee replacement on 12-06-2023, and it has been rough. But I found a LOT of helpful TKR support through Youtube videos by patients and Physical therapy doctors who told me all the things my ortho surgeon never told me, but was supposed to. You know, informed consent means you've been INFORMED. Not so with most Ortho surgeons according to YT testimonies. God bless you richly, Dr. Sherri. I love you through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Have you tried making your sleep space electronically quiet? I turn off my cellphone, unplug all plug-in's, unplug my computer and I think you probably get the picture of the need for electronically quiet space. If I don't do even one of these things, I'm going to wake from a deep sleep and not be able to get back to sleep. Electromagnetic fields and electromagnetic radiation affects us all much more than we're aware of. This may not apply to your situation but thought I'd share just in case. You take good care and God's blessings on you always.

Lord, You said that by Your stripes we are healed. I give these words back to You for the healing and restoration of Dr. Tenpenny. I know that they will never come back null or void. In Yeshua's precious name, amen.

Thank you. I will try reciting scripture when I cannot sleep. Even if I cannot sleep, my soul will be refreshed for having done so.

Normally I can sleep anytime I put my head down......I quickly go to sleep......Only if I am worrying about something sometimes I can't sleep. BUT.....Someone once told me this......If you wake up in the night and can't go back to sleep, ask God who He wants you to pray for. If I pray for the person then I go to sleep quickly......If I forget to ask God who to pray for.....then I toss and turn and can't sleep.....BUT when I remember to ask who to pray for (and HE ALWAYS tells me who it is) I can go right back to sleep.

"(Fierce storm), (are you afraid), (no faith), (obey Him)."

"Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion."

Mark 4:35-41 NLT

"35. As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's cross to the other side of the lake."

36. So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed).

37. But soon a (fierce storm) came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.

38. Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, "Teacher, don't you care that we're going to drown?"

39. When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Silence! Be still!" Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.

40. Then he asked them, "Why (are you afraid)? Do you still have (no faith)?"

41. The disciples were absolutely terrified. "Who is this man?" they asked each other. "Even the wind and waves (obey him)!" Mark 4:35-41 NLT

Let us pray.

Dear JESUS, not even the Mightiest Storm could disturb You as You slept. Even as waves filled the boat with water and threatened to sink everyone onboard, You weren't the least worried.

LORD, please give us fearless faith to trust in You no matter what's happening, even when we are bothered by the fiercest storms. May we all find rest in Your everlasting care. Amen.

"Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7 NLT

GOD bless you all!

I have this problem too. I've had it somewhat since I went through menopause, but it got even worse after 2 brain surgeries to fix aneurysms so they wouldn't burst. I sleep well for 2 -4 hrs. and then often can't get back to sleep. I've been awake since 3 am today. So many things I read say how important it is to get 7 hrs. of sleep for weight loss, better health, etc. but it's not like I'm purposely trying NOT to sleep. I would LOVE to sleep 7 hours. If I get 5 or 6 it is a great night. I have tried SO many things. The thing that works best for me is ambien though I try not to take it more than once a week and I don't take a whole pill. To complicate all this I use a CPAP, so while in some ways it helps, in other ways it doesn't.

Dr. Tenpenny my sleep experience is like yours - awake after 2-3 hours. I think for me it’s an age thing as I slept well when I was younger. It made me smile as I too recite the Lords Prayer & The Serenity Prayer to lull me back to sleep. It usually works, thankfully. I haven’t memorized Psalm 23 yet, but it’s a good one.

I use a fan, set on low. I don't have it pointed at me. Just the sound is very soothing. I have used a fan for approximately 30 years. Now I can hardly sleep without it. I take it everywhere.

Try adding Lemon Balm, Glycine,L-Theanine, Inositol, and MG. Glycinate along with melatonin. It takes 'a village' for some of us to get a good night's sleep.

Dear Dr Tenpenny, I pray that restorative sleep will soon come to you. Also, for myself. What you said about praying the Lords Prayer, I do the same. Each verse I paraphrase so it becomes very meaningful to me and that I'm not just reciting it by rote, but from my heart. Much love to you

I'm so sorry to hear about your sleep issue. I've had sleep issues for over 30 years. I pray that it won't be permanent for you but temporary.

Thank you Dr. TenPenny for your love for the Word and for King Jesus. Praying that the Lord would bless you in the night hours with His sweet peace. "In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety."

I too use these exact same passages during my attacks of insomnia. It usually helps quiet my mind and get me off the hamster wheel of thoughts. I also do breathing exercises. But I have to confess I have resorted to 50mg CBD (Irwin's Naturals) recommended by friends. It works! I have struggled with insomnia for many years. In the middle of the night after my potty break and difficulty falling back to sleep (which doesn't happen very often now since I tried the CBD) it's back to reciting those same two passages over and over. That works! Lately I have been unplugging everything in my room and keeping my phone off in the hallway and that helped even more.

Sleep has become very important to me and if anyone wakes me up in the middle of my sleep, I will not be any good mood wise. Poor husband. :-)

Thanks for those encouraging prayers. I pray Psalm 91 which is packed with protection as well as a few others. God is faithful! Why not listen to your audio Bible through the night?

I sometimes can't sleep, too. I find that simply meditating on God, praying, and praising Him will often settle me down as well. It gives your mind something productive to do while it quiets your soul.
