Dr. T the years do fly by. I remember when I couldn't wait to be 16 then 18 then 21 and after that they fly by and before you know it your retirement age and for me next month the 84th b.d. I am the only one left of 7 siblings left and friends my age have passed on. I've downsized a number of time and as you said what's left will go to someone else or end up in the trash. I have learned to value my relationship with Jesus who said "He will never leave or forsake me". He is my companion that is there when I need to talk and pray for wisdom, discernment and understanding each day, especially during this present battle of evil that has taken over our world. I never could have imagined I would live to see what is going on in this country today, it's so sick. I worry for the children they now target. It's a brutal lesson for humanity to trust "mankind" instead of trusting God as our Forefathers did.

Dr Sherri, you are loved and appreciated by all of us. Your post today is very timely and inspiring to me as I struggle to navigate the family divide that the whole Covid debacle created and continues to affect. Early-on in the scamdemic, your words and warnings were very helpful to me to further question the narrative.

I’m forever in your debt and grateful to you, that you shone your light on the truth for us.

Thank you and God’s blessings upon you 😊

Chris

This is definitely the most thought-provoking substack I have ever read. It renders a truth that we many times do not give the time and attention we should. Where am I now, Where will I be as I get older, than I am now? I have 7 decades behind me. Will I be where I want to be and have the time to enjoy my life. I am learning daily to listen to Gods words, and the ever so soft nudging he sends, trying to lead me on the right path. Thank You for this wonderful message today.

First, let me thank you for all the inspiring writing. You are a real modern day treasure that I am happy and grateful to have discovered!

I came to the realization several years back that my children and grandchildren know very little about their heritage. I wanted to change that and embarked on a journey to document what I could as well as writing essays about lessons in life that I learned, usually the hard way.

It’s become a labor of love as I try to educate them in the ways of the world.

As far as God goes, I thank Him throughout my days for all the good in my life and for giving me the strength to handle the challenges. Every day is not perfect, far from it, but I can always find something to be thankful for.

Here’s one of my essays called “Is There A God” that I wrote on the occasion of being clean and sober for 37 years. I couldn’t have done it without Him!

I just turned 60 this month. My first thought was "How did that happen? Already?" My life has been revolving around Jesus for 24 years. I don't have children. I had a small business for 20 years and my life was pretty mundane in comparison to all that you accomplished. However, it sure did open it's wings and take off in flight in a big hurry!

No matter. I know I am exactly where I should be. Waiting for Jesus to show me what to do next. As I've stated in my previous posts my last 2 years has been a complete turmoil with my husband's sudden heart episode and my mother's decision to get the shot. Now she's in heaven and not suffering anymore. Before her passing I spent 9 months trying to be the responsible daughter and speak truth to all the medical providers, long term care insurance, attorneys and assisted living/memory care directors. I ALWAYS mentioned Jesus and often. My husband said this was my mission field. That's the legacy I want to leave.

Now that we are facing uncertain times it is ever more important to continue talking about Jesus. No matter the cost. I will let Jesus "Take the Wheel" and drive me where He wants me to go.

It is my prayer we will ALL do the same without fear. We MUST tell others Who is really important.

May God bless you Dr. T and all you readers.

In His Grip,

Rennae

That was another great post, Dr. Tenpenny! The beauty of loving the Lord is it never gets old. Living in these earthen vessels is not just a test, but a testament of who Jesus was, is, and is to come, for when we see him we shall be like him. The years past naturally gives pause for thought, reflection and reminiscing from personal experiences, but I've always found the challenge of living for Jesus much harder than dying for him, as all the living know who gives them life. Thank you Lord for lending us the time to speak your truth.

"Remember Jesus Christ"

"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, “He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness.” 1 Corinthians 3:19 NLT

(paraphrased quote) from Melissa Grainger: "Have you ever thought about this? One hundred years from now, in 2124, we will all be dead and buried, along with our friends and family. Strangers will live in our homes, which we worked so hard to build and care for. Some else will own everything we own today. Most of our possessions will be sold, given away, or put in the trash. Our descendants won’t know who we are, nor will they remember us. After all, how many of us know who our grandfather’s grandfather was? We’ll be remembered for a few more years, and then we’ll just be a picture on someone’s wall. A few more years after that, our life history, photos, and deeds will disappear into history’s oblivion. We won’t even be memories."

"We will all be dead." "We won’t even be memories."

After reading this (paraphrased quote) from Melissa Grainger, we were reminded once more how the wisdom of this world falls short of describing how the LORD views this. He says to us, "Will we all be dead," meaning not still alive?

Jesus said, "So he is the God of the living, not the dead, for they are all alive to him.” Luke 20;38 NLT

"We won’t even be memories?"

"Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel." 2 Timothy 2:8 ESV

The question for all of us as followers of Jesus (Christians) must be whether our only desire in this life is for people to remember us or Jesus. When someone mentions your name, will they say they Loved Jesus? They always talked about Jesus. They lived their lives for Jesus. They said Jesus was the way, the truth, and the life. They always said all who believed in Jesus would be saved and live forever. "Jesus"

This song says it all.

"Only Jesus"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eQd3K2Fxp4

"Make it count, leave a mark, build a name for yourself

Dream your dreams, chase your heart, above all else

Make a name the world remembers

But all an empty world can sell is empty dreams

I got lost in the light, but it was up to me

To make a name the world remembers.

"But Jesus is the only name to remember."

And, I don't want to leave a legacy

I don't care if they remember me

Only Jesus

And I, I've only got one life to live

I'll let every second point to Him

Only Jesus

All the kingdoms built, all the trophies won

Will crumble into dust when it's said and done

'Cause all that really matters

Did I live the truth to the ones I love

Was my life the proof that there is only One

Whose name will last forever

And I, I don't want to leave a legacy

I don't care if they remember me

Only Jesus

And I, I've only got one life to live

I'll let every second point to Him

Only Jesus

Jesus is the only name

Jesus is the only name

Jesus is the only name to remember, oh

Jesus is the only name

Jesus is the only name

Jesus is the only name to remember

And I, I don't want to leave a legacy

I don't care if they remember me

Only Jesus

And I, I've only got one life to live

I'll let every second point to Him

Only Jesus

I, I don't want to leave a legacy

I don't care if they remember me

Only Jesus"

GOD bless you all!

You are so right, Dr. Tenpenny. The reason we are here at this time and in this place is to do the will of our Heavenly Father and honor him. That's it. We are so prone to get sidetracked and lose focus. Thank you for the beautiful reminder . . .

This was a great message Dr T. I am in my 7th decade and often look back over the years. In a blink of an eye my 42 years as a hospital Rph came to an end. But I continue to educate myself through your work and of many of your peers. Mostly, while this world will pass away , my home is with my Heavenly Father! Thank you Dr Tenpenny.
