Nursing hasn’t been the same since COVID. Healthcare hasn’t been the same since COVID. Today I was debating on whether to continue in my nursing profession or just give up my license and be content doing something else. I have been a Hospice Nurse for 26 years except for the last 2 years. I truly felt my job was a calling. I loved my patients and their families. I just couldn’t hold up to the mandates of the healthcare provider. I will pray that God leads me to where I am supposed to be. I will keep an open mind. Please pray for me too.
It was with a very heavy heart that I welcomed the hospice care nurses and caregivers into my home during my husband's passing days; what they were forced to endure from the administrative end. They truly loved the work they were doing to help the families and minister to the dying. At the same time they were being forced to be sickened themselves. I pray for them that their own health and wellbeing are not suffering.
You can not serve two masters, so do not feel shame or guilt that you can not work in the same places of the "sick-care" industry. There are many who need your skills and talents. We are praying for you too.
What a great reminder we cannot serve two masters. That goes for other professions as well. CoVid and mandates have set our world upside down and maybe God has new plans for many of us.
Dr. Tenpenny, this is so awesome. I was speaking about King Solomon and his downfall, with a homeless man. The man was angry to learn, his favorite person, King Solomon, was such a lawless person.
He was angry, as he thought, if King Solomon lived that way and loves God, it’s ok.
It’s not ok. I asked him to look in his past, his walk with Christ and understand we are where we are, due to to our lack of wisdom and knowledge.
I saw him a few weeks later. He cried like a baby, and understood. He thanked me and moved on. Our society is very lost. We have not stopped one minute, to thank someone, help someone or pray or even talk of the wonderful gifts God has bestowed upon us.
I thank you and lift you up in prayer,
Dr. Tenpenny, for all of the knowledge you have given us. You are a wise, amazing woman, who cares about everything and everyone...and I love that you walk with God. Sharing God’s love with us. To me, you are a wonderful, thoughtful.
Prayers always, I hope you are getting better. Love in Christ, Lisa
Dr. Tenpenny, thank you for sharing more about Solomon this week. I find it interesting that Solomon started right by asking God for wisdom but failed to follow God's instruction faithfully. Unfortunately, this is not much different for us today. We'll pour our hearts out to God and ask for guidance, but then, when it comes time to take consistent action, we fail to do so. Are we guilty of squandering the gifts that God has given us? Probably! The greatest travesties humankind has faced, in my opinion, is when we fail to take action or quit prematurely. I pray that God strengthens our commitment to take daily sustained action to follow his specific instructions for our lives. Thanks again for today's message.
Thank you dear Dr. Tenpenny. I have followed you closely for the past few years. And I have been so grateful for the wealth of information you have shared. It certainly helped, weathering the storm of the “ Covid” time. But what you are sharing from God’s word and your study is imperative to those whose desire is to follow God, to listen and obey, trusting Jesus, Our Savior, our Lord. Thank you ever so much for the encouragement and blessings through God’s word. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may you experience his healing. With a grateful heart...your sister in Christ
Beautiful Dr. Tenpenny! We do appreciate all you do for the health and wellness community and all true followers of Christ! I pray you continue to heal. I look forward to your interviews and your words of wisdom daily. Thank you- from Chicago burbs
Since I had to give up my private practice over a year ago (not what I wanted to do, but necessary to do), I am still waiting to see what gifts the LORD wants to pull out of me. I ask Him daily for His wisdom and His discernment every day for that day and not for the future. Looking back I can see how He used whatever gifts I had for that particular day and used it for Him. So, it's a one day at a time gift calling.
Sometimes He just makes me rest in His quietness and peace.
Whatever His plans are for me in whatever timing He determines, I have to trust in Him and Him alone.
Thank You my Sister in Christ. for your determination to keep going and keep giving. You are a gift for all of us. He gave us you and I am grateful.
Rennae: We've been on a one-day-at-a-time journey for the past several years; nine years, if not longer. I'm so sorry you had to give up your private practice. Your written words show that you're leaning into the Lord and trusting Him, one moment at a time. Sounds like He's using you in ways you hadn't considered before. He has a plan, and you're walking in it even though you may not yet see the "results" of how He's using you. In heaven you will see.
As you read my very long comment, you’ll understand, I’m not an educated man with all the mistakes, for after posting, reread and there’s all these mistakes, shouting out at me, “Oh Brian, you’ve done it again. Just stop posting!” God forgives even me for my weaknesses. Lord bless one and all
We can and should walk in God’s spiritual power as we seek Him and and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. In 1993, a woman told me, “You need the gifts of the Holy Spirit.” “ That’s good for you, I’m doing just fine.” Two years later, in the evening hours, read the gifts listed in 1st Corin 12. “Lord I don’t about these gifts, if You have gift for me, I accept it.” The next morning, went down stairs to see the wife. Asked how she was doing, “ I have a terrible headache.” “ Ok? I’ll pray for you.” Raised my left hand towards heaved, put my right hand on her shoulder and began to pray. Suddenly, this bolt, this powerful current of energy came down my left arm across to my right arm and into her.. To say the least, I was surprised. My wife was healed instantly. Twenty nine years later, there’s a long list of healing from me to others and also to me. At this moment, the power of God is moving because He is pleased that I’m writing this out to you and those with ears to hear. One of the more amazing healing was a man with a cadaver eye. I was praying for him over the phone and not for his eye, when he shouted, “ I can see out of my eye. I can see colors.” He ran out of his house with the phone in his hand with his wife close behind him and continued , “ I can see the blue sky and the clouds!” That wasn’t a healing, that was miracle. When I get up in the morning, I have to start afresh with the Lord by glorifying Him with my words of love. Of awe. Of seeking Him for that instant, that day for Him to work through me for His, yes, Glory. I’m but a speck of dust on the earth but I’m His speck of dust. I have to be in line with His Holiness everyday. We can come to the place in our lives when we can feel darkness trying to break our relationship with God as we pray. At times as I’m praying, I feel this tiny little voice in my head of rebellion against God. Instantly, I have to rebuke that voice of rebellion and ask the Lord to break that spirit within me. For we have three voices/thoughts coming at us. Our thoughts, God’s thoughts and the enemies thoughts. It’s all important to understand where our thoughts come from for our walk with Jesus. We can win. 2nd Corin 10:4-5 is our source of victory and we will have victory for we have the Creator of the Universe living within us. We have the victory and no force can take that away from us. King David had many wives and King Solomon grew up with his fathers life style. Then lust kicked in and Solomon became prey to the devil and his devices. If Solomon would’ve listened to that still small voice within him, “No, my son, don’t go there, don’t do that.” History would’ve been much more kind to him. We have the Holy Spirit within us and let us always listen to that still small within us.
"There, he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the LORD came to him: "What are you doing here, Elijah?" 1 Kings 19:9 NIV
The word of the LORD is still going forth. It reaches out to all of us, calling to us as people with tender hearts of flesh to listen.
"What are we doing here?"
The Answer is Destiny.
We are here to acknowledge the call from above.
"Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends." Revelations 3:20 NLT
We are here to accept GOD's invitation to be saved from our sins, receive His mercy, acknowledge our condition of complete hopelessness apart from Him, and understand that His plan of everlasting life is the only Hope for our souls and all others.
We are here to accept the call from above.
"For "Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved." Romans 10:13 NLT:
In response to GOD's call. We need to reply,
"GOD, I'm ready to call out to You now and ask You to hear me from Heaven above. This is my simple prayer to You, GOD. I've been doing everything my way, but now I'm asking you to give me a new life to do things as you want. GOD, I know I'm a Sinner. I'm asking for forgiveness for all my sins. I'm asking you to help me to turn from my sins and follow you from this moment forward. JESUS, I believe You died for me, and You rose again and are here right now. I want to be born again, made new, and filled with Your Spirit. Thank you, GOD, for Your mercy that saved a Sinner like me."
We are here to tell others about His call from above.
"You will tell his people how to find salvation
through forgiveness of their sins.
Because of God's tender mercy,
the morning light from Heaven is about to break upon us,
to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
and to guide us to the path of peace." Luke 1:77-79 NLT
"But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?" Romans 10:14 NLT
We are here now for our destinies to be fulfilled.
"Then people all over the earth will know that the LORD alone is God and there is no other." 1 Kings 8:60 NLT
We need to be fearless and reach out to everyone around us, those lost souls, and tell them about JESUS. We are living in perilous times, and for this reason, we can no longer be worried about our image and what people may think about us. We need to fearlessly speak up and not be silent. We are here now for His purposes, not our own.
"I will tell everyone about your righteousness. All day long I will proclaim your saving Power, though I am not skilled with words." Psalm 71:15 NLT
We are here to honor the LORD.
"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:17 NIV
We, as His people, are here to honor the LORD by bringing Him glory with simple, loving actions toward others. This glorifies the LORD, and as GOD gifted each of us differently for this purpose, we are to use those unique qualities to honor him in the service of others.
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:16 NIV
"We are here to love GOD and one another, the greatest calling that matters the most.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34 NIV
"We are here to stand in the presence of the LORD."
"The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by." Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake." 1 Kings 19:11 NIV
The LORD calls us to stand with him, weak or strong, to stand in faith, believing He is always with us, always able to rescue us and accomplish his plans for our lives, and let it be known those plans are perfect regardless of how we view the circumstances. Standing in his presence is what He desires from us, being close to Him because we are His people, and He is our GOD.
"No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8 NLT
We are here to stand firm.
"Put on all of God's armor so that you can stand firm against all strategies of the devil." Ephesians 6:11 NLT
We are here to stand with the LORD, putting on His whole armor to protect us from evil. We are to stand firm against the strategies of the devil to destroy us and the ones we love, to persevere in His Almighty Power, as He leads and protects us to put up a fight and to keep fighting because this matters.
"Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for GOD can be trusted to keep his promise." Hebrews 10:23 NLT
We are here as Witnesses of His Power to transform lives.
"But you will receive Power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 NLT
We are the LORD's people as living proof to the World of His Power to transform lives. We are here to tell everyone everywhere how JESUS changed us forever. We are here now to Point the way to Him.
"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 NLV
We are here to warn people of the Eternal consequences of sin.
"And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:11-15 NLT
We are here to live a victorious life through Christ.
"No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s Love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s Love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the Love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:37-39 NLT
Let us pray. . . We are here, LORD, standing with You. We are here to thank You for calling us. We thank You for enabling us to respond to Your call, help us to do the things that will bring You glory, help us to live our lives in honor of You, pointing the way to You, JESUS, to You alone, we pray this day, Amen.
Thank you for this beautiful and encouraging stack. My husband and I were reflecting on our blessings this morning and what we are to do with them and what God is preparing us for. Continued prayers that God bless you, protect you, strengthen you and shine his face upon you.
Thank you for this article. It's so important that each Christian use the talents God has given them to serve Him. We may think it's unimportant but the smallest acts of service are important too. Thank you for the reminder.

I would be SO happy if I could get an appointment with someone in your practice Dr. Tenpenny. I am 89 years old and have had a healthy body almost all of those years but now am in near constant pain.
Thank you, Dr. T...this post nourishes and encourages our hearts.
The only "audience" that matters is our triune God. He sees what we do in the quiet moments, out of the public eye.
Thank you for sharing your gifts with your readers here on your Sunday 'stack.
Imparted wisdom and a beautiful prayer, thank you Dr!
Amen & thank you so much❣️✝️
